The most important road in South Africa starts in Cape Town and runs in a Northeasterly direction right into Zimbabwe. Major towns along this road are
Baufort West in Western Cape,
Colesberg in Northern Cape, the halfway house between Johannesburg and Cape Town,
Bloemfontein, the capital of Free State,
Johannesburg und Pretoria in Gauteng
and Polokwane (capital), Makhado and Musina bordering Zimbabwe in Limpopo Province.

N 4
The N4 highway connects Botswana with Gauteng and Mozambique. This is a part of the so called "coast 2 coast" highway from the Altantic (Walvis Bay) to the Indian Ocean (Maputo).

South Africa - A 4 via Johannesburg, Witbank, Nelspruit to Komatipoort bordering Mozambique

This road leads from East London (Eastern Cape) to the capital of the Free State, Bloemfontein.

From Kimberley, the capital of the  Nordthern Cape, this road leads via Bloemfontein to Maseru, the capital of Lesotho.

N12 highway connects George (Western Cape/Garden Route) with Johannesburg. Major towns along the road are
