Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park

accommodation, activities...

This national park (South Africa-Kalahari Gemsbok National Park & Botswana-Gemsbok National Park) is known for its unspoilt nature. Red sand dunes, typical for the Kalahari desert, dry bushveld and periodical rivers are characteristic for the scenery. Kgalagadi is famous for spotting cats of all kinds. Lions and leopards but also Oryx and other mammals can be spotted perfectly.
The park is mainly accessible by 4x4.

Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park is the first transfrontier peace park in Southern Africa. The protected areas have been put together neglecting the border line to the neighbouring country of South Africa. Game can roam freely within the whole Kgalagadi Transfrontier Peace Park.

In the South African part of this national park three restcamps and three wilderness camps are catering for visitors. Nossob Camp is connected (gravel road) to the entrance gate of the park on the Botswana side, Mabuasehube. You should calculate two days for this distance. Mabuasehube can be reached from South Africa via R380. A permit is required.
