General Info
There are only few regions that can offer you a better African experience than the Soutpansberg area. Neverending savannahs, baobabs, natural forest, plenty of game and a cultural diversity await you. This is the home of Venda and Shangaan people.
The area borders Kruger Park in the East and Zimbabwe and Botswana in the North and West.

Kruger National Park - Gates
R508/525 lead you from Musina to the Northernmost entrance into Kruger Park: Pafuri Gate.
Punda Maria is within easy reach via Makhado (Louis Trichardt), Elim and Thohoyandou via R524. This road runs along the Southern slopes of the mountain.

Tropic of capricorn
Travellers along the N1 come across the tropic of capricorn (23°26' Southern latitude) almost halfway between Polokwane and Makhado. This is where tropical Africa starts! Just off the road is a monument.
