This is the most important road in Namibia, running from South to North. The road starts at the border to South Africa (Noordoewer) and runs right to the Angolan border.

Otjiwarongo (a pleasant place)
The capital of the Otjozondjupa region is the centre of a huge farming community. Some farmers live up to 200 km away from town. This town developed from a police station, where some people settled after the Herero rebellion in 1904/1905. The town was laid out around the railway station in 1907. Since 1939 the town is an administrative centre.
